The problem

A one-time-purchase store bleeding CAC on Meta. Subscription was buried three clicks deep and 90% of customers ignored it.

The approach

Migrated to Shopify Plus + Recharge. Rebuilt PDPs around subscribe-first defaults, added skip/swap flexibility, and moved to a subscription-hero home page.

The outcome

Subscription share of revenue jumped from 12% to 58% in five months. CAC dropped 41% because Meta could bid against a 3.4× larger contribution margin per new customer.
